After a busy year of lettings at Phase 1 of the scheme, with 2.34 million sq ft (217,386 sq m) space taken by Amazon, Fellowes, CEVA and Lidl, Verdion will now start development of the second phase of the £500 million multi-modal logistics development.
iPort offers both speculatively built units as well as design and build space ranging from 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) to 1 million sq ft (92,900 sq m) and includes a dedicated 35 acre (14 hectare) high specification rail freight facility, providing services with continental gauge clearance to all major UK ports and the Channel Tunnel.
The site is linked to Junction 3 of the M18 via the Great Yorkshire Way, which was constructed to enable the development of the site.
Michael Hughes, CEO of Verdion, says: “2016 was a great year for iPort, with major lettings to household names validating the ambition of this project. We are glad to be able to announce the start of the second phase so quickly and expect to contend with a further wave of strong occupier interest in 2017.”
Gent Visick, CBRE and Colliers are letting agents for iPort.
