Verdion, the developer behind Doncaster’s iPort Strategic Intermodal Logistics Park has become the latest major company to join Sheffield City Region’s Logistics Hub UK partnership.
Located at M18 junction 3, iPort is a key component in Doncaster’s fast-developing multimodal logistics hub. The development will be accessed via the new, £56m FARRRS Link Road, connecting iPort directly to both the M18 and Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Units can be available on the iPort site from Quarter 2, 2015, and the development is projected to bring up to 5,000 new jobs to the Doncaster area.
Verdion is a leading real-estate investor and developer, specialising in logistics warehousing in mainland Europe and the UK. The company provides new buildings for Europe’s leading logistics, e-tailing and industrial companies, focusing on sustainable and energy-efficient design to meet the demands of both logistics companies and the wider community.
Verdion’s European Development Director, John Clements, said: ‘Doncaster and Sheffield City Region are fast becoming established as the UK’s central hub location for logistics and distribution, and iPort is at the heart of that proposition. We’re delighted to be joining the Logistics Hub UK partnership to promote the region’s excellent offer to companies in the global logistics sector’.
